The key to finding true love
|Finding that mysterious and deep connection with another human being, which lets you believe the person in front of you can be a potential life partner is quite rare. Not only is it rare, it is also quite scary. Opening your heart up completely and putting your trust in another person, is far from easy. Especially if you have been hurt by others in the past.
Taking a leap of faith and hoping this person is the one, seems to be as un-rational as jumping off a cliff covering your eyes with one hand and the with the other hand holding an umbrella. Expecting for some unjustifiable reason you will land softly and without any harm.
Falling in love is essential but does not seem to be enough of a reason to commit to one person, even though many people do weird things for love. Love is not rational, love makes us blind, love is going to conquer the world some day. When we look at love from scientific point of view, a lot of the magic fades away. We are left with a bunch of hormonal processes that seem be justifiable in a lot more ways than we actually want to know. All the scientific jibber jabber can be thrown out of the window, since some of us still really do believe in the power of love and the magic it brings with it.
If falling in love is not the only reason to commit to one person, which reasons can be distinguished from the bunch as being highly important? When do we allow ourselves to fully trust and to open up to a significant other? Which aspects indicate that you have found your soul mate, or at least a mate for this lifetime?
A lot is found not only in what you feel for another person but how this person is making you feel.
Being in love can make you feel on top of the world. Maintaining this feeling always and always, is a rare phenomena. How you are being treated by your significant other can be big enhancement to how you feel. If you have found someone that makes you feel good about you and you can do the same for the other. Know that you have captured a wonderful trait in your relationship, cherish it.
Laughing keeps you young and your relationship healthy. Who doesn’t love a good laugh? When you have someone in your life with whom you can share your sense of humor. It can seem as if all the clouds in the sky melt in front of the sun. All negativity is forgotten and is being replaced with joy. A good laugh together can compensate a pretty big argument. Being able to laugh with your partner is yet another trait that shows a deep connection.
Talking is silver and silence is gold. In moments of silence you can actually feel the chemistry which arises between two people. Or the lack of chemistry. How do you and your partner function in silence? Do you feel awkward when it is quiet? The comfort of not feeling the need to talk the whole time with each other has a relaxing effect. There is a difference between quality and quantity of spoken words. Sometimes there is just no need to speak because one look is already sufficient; you just get each other.
Eyes are the windows to our souls. By looking into your partners eyes, you can get a lot of information. Some connections are that strong, one simple look can trigger intense feelings. A look can make you feel like you are drowning, make your blood pump faster and your heart beat faster. What kind of effect do your partners eyes have on you when you look deeply into them?
Nobody is perfect, love and accept your partner with all his or her flaws. No relationship is perfect and the same counts for people. But still you managed to look past these flaws and love and accept them. Loving your partners imperfections makes your bond grow even stronger.
It’s you two against the rest of the world. Together with your partner you feel unstoppable. It doesn’t matter what kind of challenge crosses your path. Knowing you have your significant other by your side makes you feel invincible. Nothing really matters besides you two. It seems as if a big flashlight is pointed in your direction and the rest of the world is just dark or faded away.
Home is where your heart lies. As long as you are together you have the feeling you are home.
