Fidel Castro dead at 90
Fidel Castro, who led the country of Cuba for nearly half a century, died on Friday at the age of 90.
His brother Raul Castro announced his death on state television and said he will be cremated on Saturday.
Castro led Cuba for nearly half a century as both prime minister and president. The controversial leader made his last official appearance before the country’s Communist party in April and predicted that his death was near.
He said in the past he survived 634 assassination attempts, mainly masterminded by the CIA.
Fidel Castro overthrew the dictator Fulgencio Batista’s government in 1959. The United States severed diplomatic ties with Cuba in 1961 banning all exports to Cuba except for food and medicine. Raul Castro and President Obama restored diplomatic ties in December 2014.https://the-conscious-mind.com/fidel-castro-dead-at-90/https://the-conscious-mind.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/fidelcastro-1024x682.jpghttps://the-conscious-mind.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/fidelcastro-150x150.jpgNewscuba,fidel castro
