Although science has learned a lot about the human body, we still don’t know everything about human potential. How can Olympic and World Records continuously be broken if the human body can be maxed out with skill? Somehow people generation over generation discover ways to push their bodies and minds farther than they’ve ever gone before. It’s hard work, but the rewards are immense. Not only do these people get to set a new world record, they prove to the world that human potential is immense. And that’s exactly what Alexander proves in the video below.

Because he is not afraid to push his body further every day, Alexander, a young man from Russia, can do things that no one ever thought was possible. He picked up gymnastics as a young boy and was training to become one of the best in the world. Along his training journey, he learned something unique about his own body – he could turn his head backward further than anyone else. With a bit of practice, he developed the ability to turn his head around in a complete 180 degrees. Alexander doesn’t need eyes on the back of his head because he can simply turn around and look behind him.

Although Alexander the Russian sportsman can accomplish this ghastly feat, the young man’s doctors warns other people from trying it. Apparently, turning one’s head around 180 degrees comes with a warning for others not to try it at home.

Alexander had been training to be a world-class gymnast and turned his head back one bit at a time. While it seems like he just woke up one day able to turn his head around all the way, he had to work at it to get where he is now.

“Many years ago, I started doing gymnastics, and that’s where I noticed that the vertebrae of my body are flexible, and I can turn my head farther than normal,” Alexander said. “I worked on this step by step, going a little further each time, and one day I was able to turn my head all the way around.”

Meanwhile, Alexander’s doctor, who has 30 years of experience as a radiologist, has never seen anyone turn their head 180 degrees like this young Russian man can do. From his vast experience, he believes that when Alexander combined his gymnastics training with a congenital trait, he was able to turn his head much farther than a normal person. The doctor does not think this is something just any person can learn.

Anyone who does not have Alexander’s level of flexibility would certainly snap their own neck, the doctor thinks.

“When I do, it takes energy from my whole body,” Alexander added. “This requires concentration of 100 percent. It may sound silly, I know, but at that moment, I do not feel myself. And as if it were another whose body is filled with some kind of energy. For me, it is absolutely normal, and it does not hurt at all.”
